The Jerzy Limon Scholarship Programme is intended for Shakespeare scholars, theatre scholars, literary and theatre historians, literary scholars, and other representatives of the humanities and arts pursuing scholarly and/or artistic work.
The scholarship is offered as a one-time cash stipend (PLN 3,000 gross) for a physical stay in Gdańsk, Poland, and research on a scholarly and/or artistic project utilising the collections of the Professor Jerzy Limon Library located at the Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre. The scholarship recipient also receives free accommodation from the Gdansk Shakespeare Theatre and/or other programme partners.
In 2026, the scholarship will be awarded to two individuals for a period of two weeks in August (between August 4-31, 2026), to at least one recipient commencing or pursuing scholarly or artistic work focusing on Shakespeare and at least one recipient commencing or pursuing scholarly or artistic work focusing on Jerzy Limon’s academic and/or literary works.
