The University of Vienna is currently advertising for a 15-month postdoctoral position in the ERC/FWF-funded project “Poetry Off the Page: Literary History and the Spoken Word, 1965-2020“, to begin asap.
With over 3000 active students, the University of Vienna’s Department of English and American Studies is one of the largest in Europe. It is situated on a green, car-free campus, not far from the U2 underground line and about a 15-minute walk from the city centre. In the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, Arts & Humanities at Vienna University were ranked in 38th position.

We are looking for someone with
- a PhD in British or Anglophone Literary or Cultural Studies or a related discipline (e.g. Theatre Studies)
- Expertise in (British) poetry / performing arts
- Interest in Postcolonial literary criticism and/or gender studies
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- IT user skills
- Ability to work in a team, and to deadlines
