Purpose
In 2022, ESSE introduces a new category of research support scheme for national associations with tight resources to cover the travel expenses of the parallel lecture speakers from their national associations at the ESSE-16 conference in Mainz. The total ESSE funding offered for this is up to €3,000, and the individual speakers’ travel grants are limited to €500. It is expected that the same scheme will be made available again for the ESSE-17 conference in Lausanne in 2024. An official call will be launched in autumn 2023.
Eligibility
The parallel lecturers must be members of national associations affiliated to ESSE (according to the official membership list submitted in November 2023).
Application
The application should provide the information about the parallel lecturer (name, affiliation, current position, title of the parallel lecture), as well as the provisional travel budget.
Dates and Reimbursement Procedure
National associations apply for the travel grant for the parallel lecturer(s) to the ESSE Secretary, at least three months before the ESSE conference.
Once granted by the Executive decision, the funding is paid out to the national association after the ESSE conference, according to the expense documentation, the same as for other ESSE travel expenses. (Please use the ESSE Expense Form, and check the ESSE Budget and Reimbursement Guidelines)
