In view of the lack of certainty over the impact of the pandemic over the coming months, the Lyon Organizing Committee and the ESSE Executive have jointly decided that it would be wiser to plan an all-online conference from 30 August to 3 September 2021. This also applies to the doctoral symposium, which will also take place online.
As announced last summer, the scientific program remains largely unchanged. The scheduled plenary talks, parallel lectures, roundtables, seminars, and posters are all retained (no new roundtables, seminars, or posters can be accepted). The number of allotted slots (1, 2 or 3) for each seminar is retained (no new slots can be allotted). Seminar and roundtable convenors are invited to circulate the information with all their scheduled speakers and to send their confirmed lists of participants to the Organizing Committee <esse2020lyon@gmail.com> by March 15. The lists of participants for each roundtable/seminar can be adjusted (new names/talks can be added) – the minimum number of speakers per 2-hour slot remains at 4, and the maximum at 6.
The detailed program of the conference will be available in April and online registration will open in May. We expect that registration will be free for ESSE members (to be confirmed at a later stage). For non-ESSE members there will be a modest fee.
