19th International Conference on Contemporary Narratives in English<\/strong> \u2014\u201cThe Relational Turn in the Literary Anglosphere: Writing Connection and Interdependence\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are pleased to share a few glimpses from the 19th International Conference on Contemporary Narratives in English, held at the recently renovated Faculty of Arts and Letters at the University of Zaragoza. Under the title \u201c<\/em>The Relational Turn in the Literary Anglosphere: Writing Connection and Interdependence\u201d<\/em>, the conference brought together scholars from across the globe to reflect on literature\u2019s role in expressing and shaping new paradigms of relationality, care, and interdependence in today\u2019s world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured four distinguished plenary speakers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Joan Anim-Addo (Goldsmiths, University of London)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Rosario Arias (University of M\u00e1laga)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Gordon Henry (Michigan State University)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • John McLeod (University of Leeds)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Over the course of three intellectually vibrant days, participants engaged in a wide range of discussions on topics including Indigenous cosmologies, posthumanist ethics, affect theory, environmental humanities, transmodernity and transmodern feminism. Beyond the academic exchange, the conference itself became a living embodiment of its theme: relationality was not only discussed, but truly enacted in the spirit of dialogue, mutual care, and shared experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We believe the success of the event lies precisely in this meaningful convergence of scholarly inquiry and human connection. The conference was part of the activities of the research project \u201c<\/em>Literature Of(f) Limits: Pluriversal Cosmologies and Relational Identities in Present-Day Writing in English (LimLit)\u201d (PID2021-124841NB-I00) and the research group \u201cContemporary Narrative in English\u201d (H03_23R), University of Zaragoza.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
