The usual term of office is three years. Candidates should be Professors of English with a distinguished scholarly career, and they should preferably have been involved in ESSE affairs. They need to obtain the written support from two national associations. Candidates should submit, as e\u2013mail attachments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a letter of application<\/li>\n<li>a short (2\u20133 page) CV<\/li>\n<li>letters of support from two national associations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each national association can also nominate candidates for this position (only one candidate can be nominated by each national association). In this case, national associations will submit, as e\u2013mail attachments:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a letter, signed by the Association\u2019s President, describing the candidate\u2019s competence for the specific office<\/li>\n<li>a short (2\u20133 page) CV of the candidate proposed<\/li>\n<li>a letter, signed by another Association\u2019s President, seconding this proposal<\/li>\n<li>a letter in which the candidate will express his\/her agreement with the candidacy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications and nominations must be submitted electronically, <strong>by 30 April 2021 at the latest<\/strong>, to the members of the Nominations Committee:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smiljana Komar (Chair) (<a href=\"mailto:smiljana.komar@guest.arnes.si\">smiljana.komar@guest.arnes.si<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Montserrat Mart\u00ednez V\u00e1zquez (<a href=\"mailto:mmarvaz@upo.es\">mmarvaz@upo.es<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Bernard De Clerck (<a href=\"mailto:bernard.declerck@ugent.be\">bernard.declerck@ugent.be<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From the applications and nominations received, the Committee will select the best candidates. They will be interviewed (in person or online) and elected by vote at the ESSE Board meeting in August 2021.<\/p>\n<h2>For the position of EDITOR OF <em>THE ESSE MESSENGER<\/em><\/h2>\n<p>The Nominations Committee seeks nominations for the position of <strong>Editor of <em>The ESSE Messenger<\/em><\/strong> which falls vacant in January 2022. The usual term of office is three years. Candidates should preferably have been involved in ESSE affairs. They need to obtain the written support from two national associations.
